Gladiators: The Legends' Last Stand
October 21, 2009It's time to say goodbye as the final episode of Gladiators on Sky will air this Sunday (25th October) at 6pm on Sky1.
In the last of the swansong specials, a team of legendary Gladiators break out of retirement and return to their old stomping ground, determined to recapture the glories of their heyday. Slipping back into their spandex suits, the favourites of yesteryear are Vogue, Rebel, Siren and Panther, and Ace, Khan, Trojan and Cobra. Can they teach Sky1's 21st-century warriors a lesson in the art of whoop ass, or has their muscled mettle become flabby with age?
Taking on Duel, Rocketball, Earthquake and Hit & Run, the Legends must dig deep to kick their younger reincarnations into touch. The signs aren't looking good for our more mature Titans: trading blows with Goliath on Duel, Khan states: "You can hit him, but it just bounces off."
Finally, the nineties icons split into relay teams to tackle the almighty Eliminator, going up against the likes of Tempest and Spartan. Will they rediscover the speed, strength and heart to triumph on the Travelator?
Watch out for Gladiators team manager, Wolf, who, having gone all Machiavellian on his former comrades and switched allegiances, is unable to resist a grappling session with Trojan on Earthquake. Which of them will bite the dust?
