Sky One and Shine have announced 3 additional 'special' Gladiator shows that are due to be recorded.

Gladiators - The Legends will see classic UK Gladiators Lightning, Hunter, Rebel, Wolf, Rocket, Trojan, Flame and Ace return to the arena facing the might of the brand new team - who will fair the best? Who will win in the Eliminator? Best of all, it's all in the name of charity!

Also confirmed is a Celebrity Special and an 'Army vs Navy' show called Battle Of The Forces.

THE GLADIATORS REVEALED!

The 12 brand new UK Gladiators have been revealed to the world! The likes of Oblivion, Panther, Atlas and Tempest will challenge the Contenders in the following Events: Duel, The Wall, Hang Tough, Powerball, Pyramid, Hit & Run, Gauntlet, new event Earthquake and of course the Eliminator. Filming begins at Shepperton Studios, Middlesex, on Saturday 19th April until Monday May 5th and the series will be broadcast on Sky One in May.

TWO NEW UK GLADIATORS SHOWS

Shine have announced that they have been commissioned by Sky to produce to two new documentaries in addition to the brand new UK Gladiators series. 'Gladiators Ready! The Gladiators Story' looks back at the birth of Gladiators, meets the stars of the original series, including Wolf, Lightning, Trojan, Vogue and Rhino and discovers how their lives have changed during the show and what they're doing now. Plus you'll meet the 12 all new Gladiators for the first time and hear what advice the oldies have for the newbies.

Rufus Hound narrates 'Gladiators A-Z' a one-off special alphabetically exploring the spandex-filled universe of the 90s classic. This tongue-in-cheek documentary is an unaplogetic nostalgia-fest, revealing the nuts and bolts that cemented Gladiators' status as an iconic and landmark example of primetime entertainment. This is broadcast Sunday 27th April 2008 on Sky One.

NEW HOSTS ANNOUNCED!

Sky One have announced footballing legend Ian Wright and TV favourite Kirsty Gallacher as the prese in the hope of becoming crowned series champion and win the £50,000 prize. They are joined by original referee John Anderson on the new series to be filmed on two giant sound stages at Shepperton Studios, Middlesex, home to blockbuster film productions including The Golden Compass, Atonement and Troy.
